"Hey Anthrax, you have a critcally acclaimed new album out what are you going do now?".. If the answer was Kick your ass on tour, then they sure lived up to it this night. The House of Blues was unprepared for what it saw this night. Along with John Bush's coaxing of those sitting on the balcony to balcony dive, "Don't worry if they sue us we have money" and Scott Ian threatening to kick someone's ass in the audience who threw ketchup at him, "Oh yeah you're a real fucking tough guy" said Ian, "did you actually say 'Oh tonight I'm going to go see Anthrax and throw ketchup at Scott Ian', real fucking tough guy.", more then a handful of Anthrax was served up and you were still begging for more. In awesome form, (and especially since it was his birthday), with *NO* set list, John Bush belted out favorites like Startin' up a Possee, Who's the man and Bring the Noise, as well as dishing out a few songs from their new album like Java Joe (sung by Ian). Take all that, add in crowd interaction, sweat and cheers and you have one of the best shows of the year. As more and more metal bands go mainstream it was great to see that Anthrax who are from back in the days where Metal was metal and men were men, proved they still are loyal to their music. |
