Drown
The Keyclub, Hollywood - November 1, 1998

Drown is an incredibly angry outfit. They are angry at almost everyone and everything. Lauren, the lead singer, is one bad ass dude onstage with a band that really delivers. His spoken word delivery is a perfect blend with Patrick Sprawl's screaming guitar and the thundering groove of bassist Sean DeMott and the punishing drumming of Marco Forcone. Drown has been around for years in the L.A. underground scene struggling for recognition. This frustration is a big part of the anger in this band. They are able to channel this anger into one hell of a performance. From the very beginning, an almost frightening rendition of "The Day I Walked Away" Drown just cranked. The band played song like "Kerosene " and "Alone In A Dirty World" with real emotion and were one step away from being totally out of control. This all adds up to one great show.
