What happens when you stick a some guitars, Betty Page look-a-likes and few greasers together? July 4 & 5 1998. What better way to celebrate the US then with an all American hoe-down. An all day festival put on by 98posse.
situated at the perfect spot, Oak Canyon Ranch (just outside of Irvine). This years band roster read like a who's who in the Rockabilly scene, the Rev. Horton Heat, The Cramps, Social Distortion and Headliners X (original lineup) were all in attendance. As with every year Hootenanny included tons of booths. Including TotallyLA's own giveaway booth, in which over the two day extravaganza gave away over 100 posters and 1000 CD's, tapes and stickers. Mix food, Lucky13 wear, dust, heat & hundreds of sweaty bodies and you have an orgasmic blast of fun. Hootenanny proved again this year why it is worth the price of admission.
