Marcy Playground
3/4
91X Fest, San Diego Open Air Theater

These boys sure are disco lemonade. No lights, no glimmer, just music in a pure form. Although they didn't incorporate much in the way of stage antics or a full "Show", (they basically kind of stood there), they still managed to play music worth listening to. Fronted by the musical stylings of John Wozniak, Marcy Playground made you feel like they were just playing for you in that coffee shop down the street. New on the scene, the crowd seemed to be somewhat unfamilar with their songs (with the obvious exception of Sex and Candy), but were receptive to listen none the less. On a solo tour this band needs a little work, but for a festival the work alright.
