The Alkoholics
San Jose - October 9, 1998

MOS DEF and TALIB KWELI made more than enough head rock back and forth the night of September 29th. People who knew were able to buy their copy of "BLACK STAR" and get in free to the Palace in Hollywood for the release party. J-Rocc of the world famous Beat Junkies was in charge of the vinyl while Def and Kweli spit rhymes drenched in adrenaline to all the loyal hip hoppers. It seemed as though the whole house sang along "Definition" and "Twice Inna Lifetime" but the true moment of the night was when De La Soul and Common joined the duo on stage for a real display of B-Boyizm. The Black Eyed Peas and Mad Lion Shabamm Sadialso came to show love to the shining Black Star that doesn't not look as if it will burn out anytime soon.
